The story:
The Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG is a rare sight, with a total production of only 3,055 units. A pinnacle of performance and luxury, packaged in a two-seater convertible. Yet, that wasn’t enough for Mercedes-Benz. They headed back to the lab—not one with white coats but one filled with race suits and helmets.

In that lab, a beast was created: the SL65 AMG Black Series. The convertible construction was replaced with a fixed roof, and several components were swapped out for carbon parts. The result? A car that is 250 kg lighter than the "regular" SL65 AMG. Additionally, the absence of a heavy hardtop lowered the center of gravity, significantly improving handling. The entire bodywork was revamped: the wheel arches were heavily widened, more aggressive bumpers were added, and the rear features a large spoiler and carbon diffuser, both directly inspired by the racing world. Only the doors and side mirrors remained unchanged. The SL65 AMG Black Series is truly a unique sight. With its low and wide stance, angry-looking headlights, and overwhelming V12 soundtrack, this car is a real head-turner!

Under the hood, the Black Series was also upgraded compared to its regular sibling. Until recently, AMG followed a particular principle: "One man, one engine." The 6.0-liter biturbo V12 was masterfully crafted by a single specialist, delivering 670 horsepower and a staggering 1,000 Nm of torque. The torque is electronically limited, as Mercedes-Benz struggled to find a gearbox capable of handling such power. This is why the car is equipped with an AMG Speedshift Plus five-speed gearbox. Even though there are “only” five long gears, the Black Series is incredibly fast. From a standstill, it reaches 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with the mighty V12 pushing all the way to a top speed of 320 km/h. Regardless of the gear, there is always more than enough torque available at any time.

This specific example is in immaculate condition. Finished in Obsidian Black Metallic with the unique Black Series wheels, it’s a sight to behold. With only 19,932 kilometers on the clock, the car is in near-new condition, and it shows. The paintwork is flawless, and the leather and Alcantara interior are like stepping into a time capsule. No cracks, stains, or any signs of its 14 years of age. This car is truly a collector’s item.
