Ford F100 of the Year 1953 50th Anniversary. In 1953, the Ford Motor Company unveiled the second generation of the "F-Series", a front-engine, rear-wheel drive pickup truck which from then on added a "double zero" to its name and was renamed the F-100. The model was produced in the USA at 11 plants between 1952 and 1956.The wheelbase was increased and the front suspension was set back to improve ride quality.
