When launched in 2014 the AMG GT became the second car to be completly manufactured by AMG after the SLS. But the AMG GT was diffrent from the SLS, ment as a more mainstream model, more usable. The 6,2L engine found in the SLS was replaced here with a 4L unit supported by two turbos mounted in between the cylinderbanks to imporve response in the engine. When launched to engine produced up to 510BHP and was coupled to a dual clutch transmission. The car was a instanst success in part thanks to it immens powertrain but also to the classiclly beautiful siluette. AMG managed to create a flawless modern super-GT with hints from the past.

The sales success of the model ment more versions of the car. We got a roadster and a imporved version called the AMG GTC but the best was yet to come. During the testing and production of the GT it became apperant that this car could be a pretty serious track car and with that in mind and the sight set firmly on Porsche RS cars and Ferraris lightweight versions Mercedes-AMG loaded this bullet in the chamber. The GTR. Whilst retaining its 4 liter engine, now pushing 585BHP this car was meant to eat racetracks. The car was given a wider track, swollen arches, uprated suspension and a host of carbon elements with the most distinctive beeing a carbon rear spoiler.

One could stop there, but no. There was even a color that was developed specially for this car, named after the track on whitch it was developed. For a meer 95.000 euro you could opt for this 'Green Hell Magno' wich takes its name from the Grüne hölle. The Nürburgring.

This example is in an immaculate condition and gives of the impression of beeing a serious machine, even when you walk up to it. Silver wheels clad in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 rubber with a violent 325 with in the back says something about this car. The long hood covers the front midmounted engine with its traditional plack showing who built it. Open the door and it gets serious. Bucket seats, four point harness and a colormatched rollbar behind you. The centerconsol has two rows of buttons shaped like a V to pay homage to the engine and in the middle of the conol a knob the simply reads 'TC'... This little button lets you adjut your fear in 9 stages with how much traction control you want along with your 585bhp...

Even if the AMG GTR has competitors in the segement the car offers something unique. An experience unmatched elseware. Here in its launch color, with the right options and low milage.
