Ferrari SF90 Spider - Giallo Modena
The Ferrari SF90 Spider is the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Ferrari spider and the first Ferrari to surpass the performance of the LaFerrari. It features a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine producing 780 hp, combined with three electric motors adding 220 hp. Altogether, you have around 1,000 hp at your disposal, distributed to all four wheels depending on the driving conditions. The SF90 can drive fully electric for about 25 km using only the front axle and can reach a top speed of 135 km/h. The V8 has a boxer-like configuration due to the turbos being relocated to the sides, allowing it to sit very low. Additionally, the engine is 25 kg lighter. With the larger turbos in the SF90 Stradale compared to the F8 Tributo, its sound bears some resemblance to the F40!
The gearbox shifts in just 200 milliseconds, all the way up to the 8th gear! There’s no reverse gear; this function is handled by the electric motors on the front wheels. The benefit? A weight saving of 10 kg.
The aerodynamic design is also impressive, achieved without visible external effects. There’s no huge rear spoiler that deploys like on competitors, and no large splitters disrupting the front lines. Everything is clean and refined! This gives the SF90 an elegant appearance, yet it still reaches 200 km/h in just 6.7 seconds! Yes, you read that right!
