And while self-driving sedans may reluctantly be the future, there are still manufacturers who allow themselves to build the exact opposite. Few are better at this than BMW. BMW's smallest coupe, the M2 follow the sales success that was the 1M had a difficult task and at launch it felt like a forced second act of something that might not have had a sequel. But as is so often the case, the market for the car softened and saw it not as a direct sequel, but rather as a model in its own right. In 2018, we got a sharpened variant in the form of the Competition variant, which i.a. got a toned-down version of the M4an's drive package but BMW were far from ready and two years after the Competition we got this model, marked with two simple but important letters. CS.

The result is a car that feels like it has more in common with the M4...just lighter and shorter. 2200 cars were produced with the option of a gearbox between DCT and a traditional six-speed manual, where the majority of cars sold got the DCT box, which simplifies driving and gives you a marginally faster 0-100 time.
