In the late 90's the VAG group stood in for a change. The old, dated and frankly boring models were not selling well and the group needed a fresh set of models to revive sales. What came of this was one of the largest restructions of a automotive company in modern times. And the cars that VAG decided to bless us with became iconic. None more so than the Audi TT.
The first generation TT was like nothing that came before it. Designed by legendary automotive designer Freeman Thomas the car might have shared its underpinnings with other VAG products but the exterior was one of the most beautiful we ever came to see out of the 90's.
This example is specified in the lanch color, Light Silver. A color that really shows of the cars shape combined with a set of 18" multi-spoke wheels. The exterior is simple and clean and free from unneccessary details. In the rear a simple TT badge is accompinated with a Quattro emblem.
The inside follows the same etos. Simple shapes and details. Covered in leather and alcantara. The center consol houses climate controls and a large aluminium plate that covers the radio. It really feels like every thing was designed with function and form in mind here.
Having covered just over 107000km this TT was delivered to Germany from new and is fitted with the deirable 225 hp version of the 1,8L engine and Quattro allwheel drive.
A prime example of a youngtimer and a future collectable.
